0.2.0!!


Ayo, update time, and some info on a couple of things! So, first of all, this concludes the mob-related update for the game, and this is also the last update that’ll use an old version format. Currently, we’ve had a “theme” of an update, and this is how the format would go: the second digit is for the “theme”, and the last digit is for the version/update for said theme. Now, we’re using a new format for a couple of reasons, and the format goes as follows: the second digit is for every update we make, and the last digit will occasionally be used if we need to make a quick bug fix. We’re changing to this format since A: sticking to one theme kinda restricts what we’d like to add, and B: it’s kinda weird when there’s just a small patch for some bug fixes or crash fixes. Also,  Kevin and I have started work on a new biome system for the game that’s already in the works! We’re planning for each world to have 3 different biomes (meaning a planet can’t have two or more of the same type of biome), we have 2 biomes getting planned currently, and we intend on adding at least 4-5 new biomes in total. I (Rabb) have also been planning a new crafting system that’ll be a lot faster and easier to use, which will begin development after a couple of biomes get added. Thanks to the people that gave feedback on the menu and crafting system so we’re able to make the game as enjoyable as we can. :)

Also, Mac build!!! Currently, there are two known bugs: renaming sectors is in all-caps, and some of the labels for keys you set in the key binds menu appear invisible.

Here are the patch notes for 0.2.0!

Additions: 

- Added new stuff to the sector and solar system menus!

- Added new armor types: scale and bone armor!

- Scale armor has low defense, but increases your speed if you’re inside its respective block! (Armor made with reptilian scales make you move fast in grass tufts, aquatic makes you move in a block that does not yet generate, fluids, and camouflage currently has no use since we can’t think of one)

- Bone armor will cause previously hostile mobs to act peacefully towards you depending on the skull you use!

- Added torch particles!

- Added a new variant for rockets: fireworks!

- Added pigment, which is used in fireworks!

- Added a new Mac version!

Changes and Fixes:

- Fixed you not being able to break certain blocks

- Fixed chest items not dropping when you break it

- Fixed tutorial text not appearing when you load a new sector

- You can now climb up trapdoors if you’re already climbing up
